The Four Governments of Ancient Greece
Monarchy Oligarchy Tyranny Democracy
Who had the power to rule for this type of government?

Under this type of government, what rights did the people of Greece have?

What were some advantages of this government?

What were some disadvantages of this government?

How do you think people felt living under this type of government?
Why?

Answers

Answer 1

Democracy

In a direct democracy, the people vote and decide which policies are put into effect and which officials get to hold office.

Under democracy in Greece, not all people had rights (specifically women). All male citizens were granted equal political rights, the right to vote/participate in democracy and freedom of speech.

One advantage of democracy is that every vote is worth the same. Your vote is worth the same as anyone else's vote. Another advantage is that the people have more freedom because they decide who is and isn't in power and what gets done.

One disadvantage of democracy is that not all voters are informed to make the best decisions with their vote. If enough voters aren't informed, bad policies may be put in place. Another disadvantage is that the majority of voters have power over the minority, which can be a bad thing.

I think that people generally felt good under this kind of government. It's considered more desirable than a dictatorship and it allows more freedom to citizens.

How does the final sentence of the article contribute to the meaning of the text? "We bet nobody's gotten into a fight while waiting for the oyster party."

Be sure to include a topic sentence, text evidence and elaboration.

Answers

The final sentence "We bet nobody’s gotten into a fight while waiting for that oyster party" contributes to what Editor Scott Hensley had said about going downtown and waiting in line with a "friend" rather than buy tickets online for the Old Ebbitt Grill's annual Oyster Riot.  It had put up to saying that people waiting in line had too much fun to even "start a fight", like how people complain that they don't get refunds from returning tickets online, or when people give a bad review that, who knows, could start something big in the future. Waiting in line make's you interact more with the people or friends around you, having a bigger probability of having fun rather than starting one of those sibling fights. Of course, some people often don't like oyster or seafood, but you can find yourself waiting for oyster on a line tomorrow, lauging with your friend louder than the megaphone they use to call out names for oyster soup. Who knows.

This is from another question, tbh if you just search for your question you are likely to find a response.

The vegetation in the canyon prevents the urban runoff (usually from storms) from polluting the bodies of water. Lastly, it gives the person a chance to see wildlife. Many of the canyons are being preserved; thus, it's an opportunity to see many endangered habitats in it.

here is the answer for question #4. (note: this is written by me, not the internet! :)

Christian evangelism and missionary work has changed since the days of early Christianity in a few ways. One of the ways it has changed is, back then the word of God was spread by disciples who taught people the word with books. This was meant to help unreligious people understand the word, and become a follower of Christianity and Jesus. Today, people are realizing that old methods of spreading the word may not be effective at increasing the number of Christians. So, missionaries are trying to understand new ways to help people understand the word, and spread Christian faith. One of the ways missionaries have done this is by moving away from politics. With this being said, I do believe Christian evangelism will continue to change as the time moves forward. I believe this because it has already changed by the way people spread the word, so it most definitely should continue to change as missionaries find more effective ways to spread the word.

Answers

Answer:

4. were paid less than white soldiers.

Explanation:

Im not sure if im right but african americans were treated differently so thats the best explanation i could give you.

During the Civil War, African Americans played a significant role in the Union Army, despite facing discrimination and unequal treatment. Hence option D is correct .

Who fought for the Union during the Civil War ?

Contrary to popular belief, their service did not immediately lead to their freedom, as it was not until the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 and the ratification of the 13th Amendment in 1865 that slavery was abolished throughout the United States.

African American soldiers were often led by white officers, but there were also African American officers who emerged, especially as the war progressed.

These officers faced challenges due to racial prejudice from both their fellow soldiers and their superiors, but they persevered and helped to pave the way for future generations of black military leaders.

Many African American soldiers were recruited from the border states, which were slave states that had not seceded from the Union. These soldiers played a crucial role in the Union's victory and were involved in several important battles, including the Battle of Fort Wagner.

Despite their bravery and service, African American soldiers were paid less than their white counterparts, receiving only $10 a month compared to $13 a month for white soldiers.

This disparity was not fully addressed until after the war, when Congress passed legislation granting equal pay to all soldiers regardless of race.

Overall, the contributions of African American soldiers during the Civil War were significant and helped to pave the way for greater civil rights and equality in the United States.
