Read this excerpt from Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll.
He shouted this so loud that Alice couldn't help saying, “Hush! You'll be waking him, I'm afraid, if you make so much noise.”
“Well, it’s no use YOUR talking about waking him,” said Tweedledum, “when you're only one of the things in his dream. You know very well you're not real.”
“I AM real!” said Alice and began to cry.
“You won't make yourself a bit realler by crying,” Tweedledee remarked: “there's nothing to cry about.”
“If I wasn't real,” Alice said—half-laughing through her tears, it all seemed so ridiculous—“I shouldn't be able to cry.”
“I hope you don't suppose those are real tears?” Tweedledum interrupted in a tone of great contempt.
Which detail from the excerpt implies that Alice is upset by Tweedledee and Tweedledum’s allegation that she is not real?
Alice does not want to wake the Red King.
Alice begins to cry during this conversation.
Alice laughs at the brothers’ silly ideas.
Alice claims her tears prove that she is real.

Read the excerpt from The Riddle of the Rosetta Stone, by James Cross Giblin.
Young had learned to read before he was two, and by the age of twenty had mastered a dozen foreign languages including Arabic, Persian, and Turkish. An inheritance from an uncle left him free to pursue his scientific interests. At various times, Young studied the habits of spiders, the surface features of the moon, and diseases of the chest. Then, intrigued by the challenge of the Rosetta Stone, he put aside his other studies and concentrated on attempting to decipher the writing on it. Young had read of de Sacy’s and Akerblad’s work in Paris, and was determined to succeed where they had failed.
The details in this excerpt hint that Giblin has a
positive attitude toward Young’s passion for learning.
positive attitude toward learning new languages.
negative attitude toward Young’s lack of focus.
negative attitude toward living off an inheritance.

How does Esperanza respond to Miguel's sweeping lesson? She bursts into tears and goes to bed. She gets angry and yells at Miguel. She laughs and watches him work. She picks up the broom and tries again.
Answer:
it is c. she laughs and watches him work
Explanation: (key words: Isabel giggled)
in the book it proves in its own words, and i quote "He shut the door, then stood in front of her and said, "How would you know how to sweep a floor? The only thing that you ever learned was how to give orders. That is not your fault. Anza, look at me." She looked up.
"Pay attention," he said, his face serious. "You hold the broom like this. One hand here and the other here."
Esperanza watched.
"Then you push like this. Or pull it toward you like this. Here, you try," he said, holding out the broom.
Slowly, Esperanza got up and took the broom from him. He positioned her hands on the handle.
She tried to copy him but her movements were too big.
"Smaller strokes," said Miguel, coaching. "And sweep all in one direction."
She did as he said.
"Now, when you get all the dirt into a pile, you hold the broom down here, near the bottom, and push the dirt into the pan."
Esperanza collected the dirt.
"See, you can do it." Miguel raised his thick eyebrows and smiled. "Someday, you just might make a very good servant."
Isabel giggled.

What messages does “Non-Stop” convey about Alexander Hamilton and the new nation?
Answer:
“Non-Stop” sends the message that Hamilton was extremely intelligent, cultured and successful in everything he does. The song also claims that the new nation seemed like an unreal idea and started out completely disorganized, but the joint work of many men, including Hamilton managed to organize it.
Explanation:
“Non-Stop” is one of the songs in the musical "Hamilton" and shows how Hamilton managed to be successful in everything he did, being the best in all the subjects he participated in. This was probably due to Hamilton's proactivity and his ability to be always studying, writing and reflecting on how to improve the nation and make it strong, free and efficient.
Elijah has these thoughts about Buck after reading The Call of the Wild.
1. When Buck is beaten by his new owners, he learns that he must sometimes stop fighting if he wants to survive.
2. When Buck witnesses Curly get killed by the other dogs, he learns that once you go down, it is almost impossible to get back up.
3. Buck learns that he must first kill Spitz (before Spitz kills him) if he wishes to survive.
4. Buck learns that he must sometimes steal and deceive in order to get the food he needs to survive.
Based on these thoughts, which thesis statement would be most appropriate for a literary analysis of themes within the novel?
Based on what happens to Buck within The Call of the Wild, a major theme within the novel is "only the strong and smart survive the wilderness." I agree with this theme.
Buck must learn to adapt with each new lesson he learns within the wild. This makes "only the strong and smart survive the wilderness" a major theme within The Call of the Wild.
In The Call of the Wild, Buck faces many challenges. These challenges show that "only the strong and smart survive the wilderness," and this is a major theme of the novel.
Clearly, as evidenced by events within the passage, a major theme of The Call of the Wild is "only the strong and smart survive the wilderness." Buck learns this lesson the hard way.

Caline
by Kate Chopin
The sun was just far enough in the west to send inviting shadows. In the center of a small field, and in the shade of a haystack which was there, a girl lay sleeping. She had slept long and soundly, when something awoke her as suddenly as if it had been a blow. She opened her eyes and stared a moment up in the cloudless sky. She yawned and stretched her long brown legs and arms, lazily. Then she arose, never minding the bits of straw that clung to her black hair, to her red bodice, and the blue cotonade skirt that did not reach her ankles.
The log cabin in which she dwelt with her parents was just outside the enclosure in which she had been sleeping. Beyond was a small clearing that did duty as a cotton field. All else was dense wood, except the long stretch that curved round the brow of the hill, and in which glittered the steel rails of the Texas and Pacific road.
When Caline emerged from the shadow she saw a long train of passenger coaches standing in view, where they must have stopped abruptly. It was that sudden stopping which had awakened her; for such a thing had not happened before within her recollection, and she looked stupid, at first, with astonishment. There seemed to be something wrong with the engine; and some of the passengers who dismounted went forward to investigate the trouble. Others came strolling along in the direction of the cabin, where Caline stood under an old gnarled mulberry tree, staring. Her father had halted his mule at the end of the cotton row, and stood staring also, leaning upon his plow.
There were ladies in the party. They walked awkwardly in their high-heeled boots over the rough, uneven ground. They tried to talk to Caline, but could not understand the French patois with which she answered them.
One of the men—a pleasant-faced youngster—drew a sketch book from his pocket and began to make a picture of the girl. She stayed motionless, her hands behind her, and her wide eyes fixed earnestly upon him. Before he had finished there was a summons from the train; and all went scampering hurriedly away. The engine screeched, it sent a few lazy puffs into the still air, and in another moment or two had vanished, bearing its human cargo with it.
Caline could not feel the same after that. She looked with new and strange interest upon the trains of cars that passed so swiftly back and forth across her vision, each day; and wondered whence these people came, and whither they were going.
One day she walked miles down the track to talk with the old flagman, who stayed down there by the big water tank. Yes, he knew. Those people came from the great cities in the north, and were going to the city in the south. He knew all about the city; it was a grand place. He had lived there once. His sister lived there now; and she would be glad enough to have so fine a girl as Caline to help her cook and scrub, and tend the babies. And he thought Caline might earn as much as five dollars a month, in the city.
So she went; in a new cotonade, and her Sunday shoes; with a sacredly guarded scrawl that the flagman sent to his sister.
The woman lived in a tiny, stuccoed house, with green blinds, and three wooden steps leading down to the banquette. Over the house tops loomed the tall masts of ships, and the hum of the French market could be heard on a still morning. Caline was at first bewildered. She had to readjust all her preconceptions to fit the reality of it. The flagman's sister was a kind and gentle task-mistress. At the end of a week or two she wanted to know how the girl liked it all. Caline liked it very well, for it was pleasant, on Sunday afternoons, to stroll with the children under the great, solemn sugar sheds; or to sit upon the compressed cotton bales, watching the stately steamers, the graceful boats, and noisy little tugs that plied the waters of the Mississippi.
When the woman asked her again after another week if she were still pleased, she was not so sure. And again when she questioned Caline the girl turned away, and went to sit behind the big, yellow cistern, to cry unobserved. For she knew now that it was not the great city and its crowds of people she had so eagerly sought; but the pleasant-faced boy, who had made her picture that day under the mulberry tree.

A friend drops her cat off at your house while she takes a weekend trip. The cat decides your $3,000 microfiber sofa will make a great scratching post. Tiger completely destroys one end of the sofa. How will you resolve this issue with your friend?
Answer:
I would talk to my friend and try to come to an agreement so that he or she would pay half the repairs the sofa would need.
Explanation:
Although animals are unpredictable and my friend is not to blame for the damage his cat did to my sofa, the cat is my friend's responsibility, just as it was my responsibility to look at what the cat was doing and prevent him from destroying anything .
As we cannot charge the cat to pay for the damages it caused, the best option would be to enter into an agreement with my friend and ask him to pay half the repair that his cat caused.

In this case, the author can present the plan that will be shown in the summary and the reason that makes him write about it.
Then comes the section called "development" which is the body of the abstract, where the author will place arguments, statements and statements that describe the main theme of the abstract and the questions about the plan that will be clarified. This section can be done by many paragraphs. In this section the author must present all the evidence and bases he has on the topic.
Finally, there is the section called "conclusion" where the author provides information that offers a resolution about what he said, or what he found out about this topic.
