Early traders relied on their knowledge of the land, their experience, and their instincts to plan routes that were both safe and profitable.

Based on historical records and anthropological research, early traders likely planned their routes by considering several factors.

Firstly, they had to find a route that would allow them to feed and water their animals at regular intervals. This meant that they had to carefully map out water sources and grazing areas along their route.

Secondly, they needed to plan routes that were relatively flat and would not overly fatigue the animals and men carrying the goods for trade. This meant avoiding steep hills or rough terrain that would slow them down.

The British Raj began in 1858 when the British Crown took direct control of India from the British East India Company following the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The Raj lasted until 1947, when India gained its independence and was partitioned into the separate countries of India and Pakistan.

During this period, the British government exercised significant control over India's internal affairs, including politics, economy, and social structure. The British Raj was a period of British colonial rule in India, which lasted from 1858 to 1947. It was characterized by complete British military control of India internally, which meant that all aspects of Indian life were controlled by British officials. This included the economy, politics, and social structure. The British Raj was established after the Indian Rebellion of 1857, which was a failed attempt by Indian soldiers to overthrow British rule. After the rebellion, the British government took direct control of India from the East India Company, which had been ruling India on behalf of the British crown.

During the British Raj, there were many Indian leaders who fought for Indian rights, such as Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. However, the British Raj was not a man who fought for Indian rights, as stated in option A. Option C, which suggests that there was a society that secretly rebelled against the British, is partly true. There were many rebellions against British rule, but they were not secret, as they were often violent and widespread. Option D, which suggests that there was an Indian military focused on killing British soldiers, is also not entirely accurate. While there were some Indian soldiers who fought against the British, the majority of Indian soldiers were loyal to the British Empire and fought in British wars.

In summary, the British Raj was a period of British colonial rule in India, characterized by complete British military control of India internally. What was one reason why the Mughal Empire began to decline?a. Lack of strong leadershipb. British defeated them in one battlec. The natives wanted independence from themd. Their trade began to decrease

Answers

One reason why the Mughal Empire began to decline was due to a lack of strong leadership. After the death of Emperor Aurangzeb in 1707, the empire faced a period of weak rulers who were unable to effectively manage the vast and diverse territories under their control.

This led to internal conflicts and power struggles among the various factions and weakened the central authority of the empire. As a result, regional governors and local rulers began to assert more autonomy and independence, further fracturing the unity of the empire.

Additionally, the British did defeat the Mughals in several battles, such as the Battle of Plassey in 1757, which marked the beginning of British colonial rule in India. However, this was not the sole reason for the decline of the empire. The natives also began to demand independence and resist the Mughal rule, which further weakened the empire.

Furthermore, their trade began to decrease due to the emergence of new trade routes and competitors, such as the Portuguese and Dutch, which affected the empire's economy.

In summary, while the British defeat and native independence movements did contribute to the decline of the Mughal Empire, a lack of strong leadership was the primary reason for the weakening of the central authority and the subsequent fragmentation of the empire.

Would you have changed some of the decisions made by the government? How would you have addressed the strong feelings people had about their culture and way of life? **

Answers

Based on what I have learned about Reconstruction,  here are my comments.

In what ways did Reconstruction succeed?

I think it was a great effort of President Lincoln’s plan to help the nation heal and move past the war quickly. Reconstruction was his idea to heal the wounds of war and to try to unify the divided country.

Why do you think so?

I believe that Lincoln facilitated things for the South to do Reconstruction at their own pace and ways. He did not try to force or impose anything by mere strength of authority. He allowed the Confederates to do things their own way.

In what ways did Reconstruction fail?

I think President Lincoln gave them leeway to proceed on their own. Although things changed que he died. President Jackson had to follow up with Reconstruction, and this somehow affected the process.

I also believe that Lincoln's 10 percent plan was not taken seriously by the Southern people to really accept the integration with the North. With this plan, Southern states would be accepted into the Union if 10 percent of citizens pledged the Oath of Allegiance.

What ideas do you have for how Reconstruction could have been handled so it would have been more satisfactory for all involved?

I would have taken more assertive measures to implement Reconstruction in the South. It was clear that black people still suffered from racism in those states.

The way I would have addressed the strong feelings people had about their culture and way of life would have been to be more sensitive about those beliefs, but create reasonable legislation making it clear that the US was one nation, not two divided regions.

Despite the differences, people should behave and integrate as one nation. The nation's interests were far above personal interests.

We conclude that the original idea of President Lincoln was to maintain the unity of the country. That is why after the Union's victory in the Civil War,  he facilitated the Reconstruction process for the South.

How did the samurai erode the power of the central government during the period of the Warring States?

Answers

Answer:

below

Explanation:

During the period of the Warring States (1467-1568) in Japan, the power of the central government was weakened due to various factors, one of which was the rise of the samurai class. Samurai were warrior nobles who served as retainers for daimyo (regional lords) and were granted land and privileges in return for their military service. As the daimyo gained power and wealth, the samurai became more influential and began to challenge the authority of the central government.

One of the ways in which the samurai eroded the power of the central government was through their alliances with the daimyo. As the daimyo gained strength, they became more independent of the central government and began to resist its authority. Samurai who served these daimyo also became more powerful and were able to exert their influence on local politics and government.

Another factor was the rise of the Sengoku Jidai (Age of Warring States), which saw a breakdown of law and order and the emergence of a more decentralized system of government. Samurai were able to take advantage of this chaos and instability to seize power and establish their own domains. This further weakened the authority of the central government and contributed to the fragmentation of Japan into smaller, competing states.

Overall, the samurai played a significant role in eroding the power of the central government during the period of the Warring States through their alliances with the daimyo and their ability to take advantage of the chaos and instability of the era.

What was the first treaty between the U.S. and an
Indian nation (under its terms, the Indians ceded most of their land)?

Answers

The first treaty between the U.S. and an Indian nation, under which the Indians ceded most of their land, was: the Treaty of Fort Stanwix, also known as the Treaty with the Six Nations.

This treaty was signed on October 22, 1784, between the United States and the representatives of the Six Nations, which included the Mohawk, Onondaga, Oneida, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora tribes.

The Treaty of Fort Stanwix was an important agreement because it marked the first time that the U.S. government negotiated directly with Native American tribes as sovereign entities.

Under the terms of this treaty, the Six Nations ceded large areas of their territory to the United States, primarily in present-day western New York and Pennsylvania. In return, the U.S. government agreed to protect the tribes' remaining lands from further encroachment by American settlers.

The treaty was a significant step in the development of U.S. Indian policy, as it established the precedent for future treaties between the U.S. and Native American tribes. However, the Treaty of Fort Stanwix was not without controversy, as some Native Americans felt that they had been coerced into signing away their lands.

Despite these concerns, the treaty remains an important milestone in the history of U.S.-Native American relations.

Old Church Slavonic was based on the language of the Slavs who lived in the Balkans, and was standardized by the two Byzantine brothers, Saints Cyril and Methodius.

Over time, Old Church Slavonic evolved into a separate language, and Old Russian continued to develop independently. Old Russian was heavily influenced by the Scandinavian languages, due to the Varangian (Viking) rule in early Russia, while Old Church Slavonic remained relatively unchanged.

1.Mexican Americans fought for equality and opportunity during the Progressive Era through various means, including grassroots activism, advocacy for civil rights, labor organizing, and legal challenges. They faced discrimination, segregation, and exploitation in various aspects of society, including education, employment, housing, and public services. Mexican American activists and leaders, such as labor leader Luisa Moreno and civil rights advocate José Martínez, organized and mobilized their communities to demand better treatment and equal opportunities. They also sought to protect their civil rights through legal channels, challenging discriminatory laws and practices in courts. Mexican Americans also formed mutual aid societies and organizations to provide support and resources for their communities, and to promote cultural preservation and pride. Through their efforts, Mexican Americans during the Progressive Era made significant strides in advocating for their rights, challenging discrimination, and seeking equality and opportunity.

2.Asian American immigrants faced discrimination and prejudice in American society during the Progressive Era. They were often subject to discriminatory laws, such as the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 which banned Chinese immigration, and faced hostility and violence from anti-Asian sentiment. Asian Americans were often segregated and excluded from mainstream American society, facing discrimination in employment, housing, and public services. They were often viewed as foreigners and faced challenges in assimilating into American society. Despite these challenges, Asian American immigrants, such as labor leader and activist Wong Chin Foo and journalist S.K. Inouye, spoke out against discrimination and advocated for equal treatment and opportunity for Asian Americans.

3.During the Progressive Era, Asian Americans, African Americans, Mexican Americans, and Native Americans all faced discrimination and segregation in various forms. They were often denied access to equal educational opportunities, faced discrimination in employment and housing, and were excluded from full participation in American society. One unique element for each minority group during this time period includes:

Asian Americans: They faced discriminatory immigration laws, such as the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, and were subjected to anti-Asian sentiment and violence, particularly on the West Coast of the United States.

African Americans: They faced widespread racial segregation, particularly in the Southern states, through Jim Crow laws which enforced racial segregation in public facilities, transportation, and other aspects of society. They also faced systemic racism and violence, including lynchings and other forms of racial terrorism.

Mexican Americans: They faced discrimination and exploitation in the labor market, particularly in agriculture and mining industries, and were often subjected to unfair wages, poor working conditions, and unsafe living conditions. They also faced discrimination and segregation in schools and public services in areas with significant Mexican American populations.

Native Americans: They faced forced assimilation policies, including the Dawes Act of 1887, which aimed to break up tribal lands and culture, and forced Native American children to attend boarding schools where they were often stripped of their cultural identities. Native Americans also faced land dispossession, loss of traditional ways of life, and discrimination in legal and political systems.

Some similarities among these minority groups during the Progressive Era include:

Discrimination and segregation: All four groups faced discrimination and segregation in various aspects of society, including education, employment, housing, and public services. They were often denied equal treatment and opportunity based on their race or ethnicity.

Grassroots activism: Each minority group had leaders and activists who organized and mobilized their communities to advocate for their rights and challenge discrimination. They used grassroots activism, advocacy, and legal channels to seek equality and opportunity.

Cultural preservation and pride: Despite facing discrimination and assimilation policies, these minority groups also sought to preserve and promote their cultural identities and heritage. They formed mutual aid societies, cultural organizations, and advocated for cultural preservation and pride as part of their fight for equality and opportunity.

Answers

It was necessary for the Mexican government to receive updates about Texas during this time period to ensure that they could maintain control over the region and prevent any potential problems from escalating.

During the time period in question, Texas was a part of Mexico and was experiencing significant changes.

The Mexican government was keen to receive updates about Texas because they needed to keep a close eye on what was happening in the region. The Mexican government was particularly concerned about the influx of American settlers who were moving into Texas in large numbers. These settlers were mostly coming from the southern United States, and the Mexican government was worried that they might bring their slaveholding practices with them, which was illegal in Mexico.

Additionally, the Mexican government wanted to keep tabs on any potential rebellions or uprisings that might be brewing in Texas. They were particularly concerned about the possibility of a rebellion because Texas was one of the most profitable regions in Mexico, and losing control of it would be a severe blow to the Mexican economy.
