Answer 2

President Woodrow Wilson first mentioned the League of Nations in his Fourteen Points speech while discussing ways to limit more wars in Europe.  Under one Article of the league, any nation under threat required all other nations to assists. This meant that otherwise peaceful nations were going to be required to assist. Because of this article, congress was too afraid to join the league as it feared it would give up American isolationism. Therefore, before the United States could join the League of Nations, it would have to change from an Isolationism mindset to a more interventionism ideology.

2a) What is the beginning or foundation of government, according to John Locke?

Answers

Answer:

According to Locke, a ruler gains authority through the consent of the governed. The duty of that government is to protect the natural rights of the people, which Locke believed to include life, liberty, and property.

Explanation:

A King

The foundation of a valid government was discovered by Locke. A monarch acquires power, in Locke's view, through the agreement of the governed. Locke felt that the natural rights of the people, which include life, liberty, and property, should be upheld by that government.

Who is John Locke?

English philosopher John Locke, whose writings serve as the cornerstone of contemporary political liberalism and philosophical empiricism. He served as an inspiration for both the American Constitution and the European Enlightenment.

John Locke challenged the idea of the divine right of monarchs in political theory or political philosophy and asserted that all people have inalienable rights to life, liberty, and property and that those who fail to uphold those rights may be removed by the people, using force if necessary.

Locke supported the separation of powers between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government, a component of the system of government outlined in the U.S. Constitution.

What was Manifest Destiny and how was it realized?

Answers

Answer:

Manifest Destiny, a phrase coined in 1845, is the idea that the United States is destined—by God, its advocates believed—to expand its dominion and spread democracy and capitalism across the entire North American continent.

Explanation:

"The philosophy drove 19th-century U.S. territorial expansion and was used to justify the forced removal of Native Americans and other groups from their homes. The rapid expansion of the United States intensified the issue of slavery as new states were added to the Union, leading to the outbreak of the Civil War."

With its triumph in the Mexican-American War, the United States seemingly realized its Manifest Destiny by gaining an immense domain (more than 525,000 square miles [1,360,000 square km] of land), including present-day Arizona, California, western Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah.

Answer:

Manifest destiny was a widely held cultural belief in the 19th-century United States that American settlers were destined to expand across North America

Explanation:

Manifest Destiny, in U.S. history, was the belief in the supposed inevitability of the United States expanding its borders westward across the North American continent to the Pacific Ocean and beyond. In the 19th century the idea of Manifest Destiny resulted in extensive territorial expansion.

Write about the Ottoman Empire.

Between the 14th and the early 20th centuries, the Ottoman Empire, often known as the Turkish Empire historically and figuratively, ruled over a large portion of Southeast Europe, Western Asia, as well as Northern Africa.

The Ottoman Empire was renowned for its contributions to art, science, and medicine. Istanbul and other important cities around the empire were regarded as centers of the arts, particularly under Suleiman the Magnificent's rule.

In World War I (1914–18), the Ottoman Empire supported Germany; subsequent peace treaties led to the dissolution of the empire; and in 1922, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk toppled the sultanate, establishing the Republic of Turkey the next year.

Non-Muslims did not receive the same rights as Muslims under the Ottoman Empire. For instance, the Ottoman Empire followed Islamic law known as sharia. For instance, this meant that a non-testimony Muslim in court was only worth half as much as a Muslim's testimony.
