TEXT: The first effect of the creation of the 13 colonies was that Britain grew very rich. Each colony now had productive farms and new towns growing as trading posts. Britain profited from these by taxation. Everything grown, bought or sold in the American Colonies was somehow taxed by Britain.

Another effect was the British Colonies became destinations for thousands of immigrants from England and elsewhere in Europe. Wealthy Europeans were eager to claim new land for plantations or make fortunes from trade in the new cities. Middle-class European farmers hoped they could get new farmland of their own. Many poor English and Scots-Irish settlers hoped they could find better lives in America working as indentured servants and hopefully purchasing land of their own someday.

Every new English colony was a new disaster for the Native Americans. The forests they hunted were cut down to make way for farms and plantations. More and more tribes became pushed off their land, either being cheated by false negotiations, or forced out with violence. When tribes fought back, the English settlers would retaliate harshly with gunfire and arson, burning entire villages to the ground. Worse still was the invisible killer that British settlers brought with them: diseases like smallpox and plague, which spread among native tribes quickly and for which they had no immunity or treatments. Sometimes, colonists would give infected blankets to natives to spread diseases on purpose. Ultimately for the native tribes, the effects of British settlement in America were tragic and irreversible. By the mid 1700s, most tribes had nearly vanished from the Atlantic coast.

The final effect of the British Colonies was the introduction of slavery to North America. The first kidnapped Africans in the American Colonies were brought to Jamestown as slaves to work in the new tobacco plantations. Slavery would spread throughout the new colonies, with cities as far north as New York being used as trading posts for slave auctions. Mainly however, slavery was much more concentrated in the southern colonies, which had large tobacco and rice plantations requiring many laborers. In the Southern Colonies, African people were simply considered property. Laws in Maryland only referred to Africans in terms of planters’ property rights. A Virginia law in 1642 punished people for hiding runaway slaves or indentured servants. Free blacks were eventually permitted to live and own property in northern colonies, and slavery in the north slowly became outlawed. In the south, however, the plantation economies of the colonies depended almost completely on slave labor.

What best describes the volcanic process of magma with dissolved water vapor and other gases as it nears the Earth surface?

B.Pressure on the molten rock lessens the rock rapidly expands to the point that it explodes and ejects into the atmosphere.

Answers

I think the right answer would be B

Pressure on the molten rock lessens and the gases quickly dissipate into the atmosphere,  describes the volcanic process of magma with dissolved water vapor and other gases as it nears the Earth surface.

What is magma and the three process of formation of magma?

Hot rock from below may intrude into the cooler plate above as the denser tectonic plate subducts, or sinks below, the less dense tectonic plate. This procedure generates magma while transferring heat. The magma in this subduction zone has the ability to form a volcanic arc, a group of active volcanoes, over millions of years.

Once it is formed, it moves in an upward flow because it is less dense than other rocks under the Earth and can feed into a volcano or cool and crystallize into intrusive igneous rock.

Molten magma is produced by three main rock behavior crossings to the right of the green solidus line:

1) Decompression melting brought on by reducing pressure,

2) Flux melting brought on by introducing volatiles .

3) Heat-induced melting brought on by raising temperature.

. How did the geography of the Nile and the surrounding land protect the people of ancient Egypt?

Answers

Answer:

The Nile provided Egyptians with fertile lands and foods, while also protecting the land with the natural barrier that intruders would have to cross before the attack.

Explanation:

The geographical location of ancient Egypt and its proximity to the river Nile helped the culture reach its greatness and provide a suitable life for the people.

Nile’s annual floods provided Egypt with fertile land and irrigation of their crops. The soil in the banks of the Nile is rich with a mineral that provided food every year for the citizens. The sea life was also the source of food, as they could catch the fish.

Nile river helped transportation and trade. Egyptians build boats out of wood and papyrus, and they would travel constantly down the river, serving them as a great highway of the ancient world.

Finally, Nile helped Egypt protect its empire as it served as the natural barrier against attacks and invasions. All the enemies would have to cross the river first, wide and rich with natural dangers, while Egyptians already developed the ways to attack intruders from the other side of the river banks.

What's the answer help pls What conclusions can you draw about Sargon's abilities as a ruler? Read this excerpt from NASA's explanation of black holes. When you encounter a word you don't know, look for context clues that might help you define the word.Scientists can't directly observe black holes with telescopes that detect X-rays, light, or other forms of electromagnetic radiation. We can, however, infer the presence of black holes and study them by detecting their effect on other matter nearby. If a black hole passes through a cloud of interstellar matter, for example, it will draw matter inward in a process known as accretion. A similar process can occur if a normal star passes close to a black hole. In this case, the black hole can tear the star apart as it pulls it toward itself. As the attracted matter accelerates and heats up, it emits X-rays that radiate into space. Recent discoveries offer some tantalizing evidence that black holes have a dramatic influence on the neighborhoods around them--emitting powerful gamma ray bursts, devouring nearby stars, and spurring the growth of new stars in some areas while stalling it in others.Considering all of the context clues around the word telescopes, what can you assume that telescopes are able to do?A)see black holes clearlyB)detect X-rays, light, and electromagnetic radiationC)predict when a new black hole has formedD)see gamma ray bursts How does the king contribute to the central conflict in "Perseus and the Quest for Medusa's Head"?Perseus holds up Medusa's head and turns the king to stone. The king requests that Perseus bring him Medusa's head. The king says that he will never let Perseus marry his daughter. The king laughs at Perseus and makes him feel ashamed.
