What situation that arose in Palestine in the late 1800s is still a source of conflict today?
A. Zionists started a movement to establish a Jewish state in Palestine.
B. The leaders of Iran, Syria, and Egypt disagreed over Palestine's borders.
C. The British wanted to annex Palestine to retain control of the Suez Canal.
D. Wahhabists started a movement establish a Muslim state in Palestine.

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Where ARE all those Palestinians, the proclaimed one million of them who lived in Israel before they were ‘displaced’? Nowhere.

Nowhere, because they never existed. And where are all the mosques for those “1 million Palestinians”? With Muslims comes mosques. There can be no Muslim population without a large proportion of mosques. If they had been 1 million at the turn of the Century, or even in 1920 after they began immigrating to fight the British, with their rapid population growth Palestine would consist of over 40 million people today and not 4 million. That alone proves the Palestinian jihad lies. Their population is small because they are new invaders and occupiers who arrived late with an aim to commit jihad. They never lost land that was never theirs to begin with! The British army permitted merely a few Ottomans to remain due to religious observations, the rest was Jewish. In reality according to eyewitness reports the barren British Mandate had a very small number of people living on it.

Answer:

Zionists started a movement to establish a Jewish state in Palestine.

The first colonists that came to the New World were looking for a fast way to get rich. The goals for each country soon changed. List how each country made money from its colonies.

Answers

Answer:

ok

Explanation:

There were four important European countries that colonized North America.

Several European countries followed the same trip made by Columbus in search of new trade routes to Asia to find precious metal and spice.  They ended up colonizing North America for different economic reasons.  Spain colonized America because they were searching for gold and silver.  They did find a lot of gold and silver when they conquered the Aztec and Inca Empires.

France colonized North America because of the great amount of furs they found there.  The French traded with the Indians for furs that they then took back and sold in Europe because people were willing to pay a lot of money for furs in Europe.

The Dutch  started a colonizing America in a city called New Amsterdam.  The English later took over the city and renamed it New York.  The Dutch were merchants (businessmen) and wanted to set up a city that would be an international city of  business and trade.  The fur trade was the first business in New Amsterdam.  New York City is still an international trade center today (It was the World Trade Center in New York that the terrorists flew into).

The English colonized North America for several different economic reasons.  Basically, they found goods that had a market in Europe.  The English that settled New England found timber that was great for building ships.  The English that settled the middle colonies of New York and Pennsylvania found good farmland that was great for growing food that could be sold in Europe.  Finally, the English that colonized the southern colonies found that area was good for growing cash crops like tobacco.

An example of colonies of countries would be the Philippines And Cuba from Spain. They used these colonies for transporting goods and a profitable sugarcane buisness. They used the colonies to build industries and establish a good economy. The more latent and well known Colony would be the Colonies of Eastern America. The British taxed the colonies and had them pay more and more. Eventually putting the same tax from England on the Shoulders of the Colonies since they were in severe debt. The Results of these colonies Resulted in wars like the Revolutionary War and the Spain and American War. The war for Spain was unsuccesful making them lose The Philippines to the U.S but they then revolted and attempted to separate and become independent like the United States back in 1776. The Philippines got freedom after WWII after they had helped take down Japan. The idea is that colonies provide a vast amount of opportunity and plenty of taxes. Though most colonies end in disaster.

How are the following principles present in the United States Congress (senate and house of representatives: separation of powers, checks and balances, limited government and federalism?

Answers

Hi! I hope this answer helps you.

Answers:

The Congress is divided into a Bicameral legislature with one side being the Senate, and the other the house.

Separation of Powers- defined as dividing the government into separate branches, so that one part does not control too much. This term is the explanation for the division of the legislative, executive and judicial branches.

Checks and Balances- due to the division of powers, each branch of the government is able to "observe" and "check" the others. This way, each branch holds equal power and does not become too powerful. An example of a check and balance would be the Presidential (executive) ability to veto any bill that Congress (legislative) passes.

Limited Government- where laws limit the power of the government in order to avoid abuse. Democracy, the type of government in the USA, is an example. It is a type of government where power is distributed rather than lying in the hands of one/a few persons.

Federalism- A system of government with one strong, central authority. A centrally controlled government.

I have been told that several political meetings have been broken up by armed men, using threats, intimidation, and, in some cases, actual violence; that in other cases property has been actually destroyed, and citizens fired on, that several citizens have been taken from their homes at night and whipped; that in several counties peaceful citizens have been intimidated and terrorized by threats of violence to their persons and their property, until they remove their names from the voter registration.
Therefore, I, Daniel L. Russell, Governor of the State of North Carolina, by virtue of authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws, will use all lawful efforts to preserve the peace; and to secure to all the people the quiet enjoyment of all their rights of free citizenship.
And I do further commend and require that all persons who may have entered this State from other states, to leave this State upon pain of being arrested and dealt with according to law.
By the Governor,
DANIEL L. RUSSELL.
