Use the following article to answer the question:
The modern Tea Party emerged in 2009 as a response to the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. These two bills represented the government's response to the economic hardships facing Americans in 2009. But Tea Party members felt that the bills were wasteful and added too much to the national debt. According to one supporter, "this tea party movement is a message to Washington that we're unhappy and that we want things done differently." Tea Party opponents argue that its members are overly conservative and ill informed. When asked about the Tea Party, Senior White House Advisor David Axelrod said, "The thing that bewilders me is this President just cut taxes for ninety five percent of the American people. So I think the [Tea Party) should be directed elsewhere, because he certainly understands the burden that people face."

Which of the following can you infer about Tea Parties?
a) Tea Parties can be serious.
b) Tea Parties are always fun.
с) Tea Parties are social events.
d) Tea Parties are unsuccessful.

In this lesson you learned about time lines and how Thematic Time Lines show events pertaining to a particular historical theme. You will create a time line of important events related to a single theme from prehistory to A.D. 1600. ( You will have three lessons in which to complete): 1: Themes)--> For this assignment you will create a thematic time line of five events. To begin with, however, you will first decide on two possible themes for the time line. You will choose one of these themes. Choose two themes from the list below that you would consider for your Thematic Time Line: • Politics, The Miltary, and Economics. • Religion, Philosophy, and Learning. • Science, Technology, and Innovations. • Literature, Visual Arts, Theater, and Music. To give you some practice in associating events with themes, choose the event that would be included on a time line for each of the following themes: ---> I posted a picture of the practice sheet. ( 2: Events ---> Choose five events for each of the two themes you chose in Step 1 ( for a total of ten events). Your final time line will cover only five events for one theme. The events must have occurred within the period under study ( Prehistory to A.D. 1600). You may wonder how you can represent such a long time span, from prehistory to A.D. 1600, with only five events. It won't be easy. You must choose events that you believe are major milestones of this period; events that had a major impact on history. Later in the assignment, you will defend your choices and explain why you included each event on your time line. ( To give you some practice choosing events, choose the one event in each group below that you believe is the most important; the one event that had the biggest effect on history. Below, you will defend your choice by explaining why you think it was the most important. (Group A--> •Second century B.C: Romans build aqueducts to supply water to cities. •A.D. Second century: Pulp papermaking process is invented in China. • Seventh century: Muslim architects build mosques with domes. ( Group B--> • c. Second century B.C: Zhang Qian helps establish the Silk Road. •c. A.D. 1080: Venice and Byzantium sign a treaty governing commerce. • 1158: Munich, Germany, becomes center of salt trade in Europe). Now it's time to choose five events for each of the two themes you chose. First you'll need to review the major events from prehistory to A.D. 1600. A convenient way to do this would be to look at the time lines for Chapters 1 through 17 that appear at the beginning of each chapter. As you review this time period, write down events that are good candidates for thematic time lines related to the themes you chose. Remember that you are only interested in events that are related to these two themes. Try to compile a list of about 10 events for each theme. Don't write long entries; just jot down key ideas. Now choose the five most important events for each theme. Write these events in the corresponding section of the Graded assignment sheet. Include a time for each event ( such as 509 B.C., A.D. second century, 1066, and so on). (Part 3. Select a Theme: Select one of the two themes you chose earlier. You will create a thematic time line based on this theme. Write this theme in the corresponding section. ( Part 4: --> Rationale/Defense of Entries: You now have a theme and five events for a Thematic time line covering prehistory to A.D. 1600. You need to defend your choices for the events by explaining why you included each one. For each event, be as specific as possible as you answer the following questions: 1) Why is this event important?, 2) What impact did this event have on society?, 3) How is the world different because of this event?, 4) Why is this event more significant than most other events within the theme? For each event you selected in groups A and B above, write a short paragraph that defends your choice and provides a rationale for why you think it is the most important of the three. Group A: and Group B: Write a short paragraph for each event that explains why you included the event on your time line. ( Part 5:--> Create a thematic time line for the theme you chose that includes, at a minimum, the five events you selected for that theme. Follow these guidelines as you develop the time line. 1) Your time line can include up to ten events.( Tbe time line must included at a minimum five events. 2) Each entry on the time line should include a date( year or century), a description of the event, and an image. The image can be something you illustrate or find on the internet. 3) Include a title for the time line that incorporates the time line's theme. [ Will Mark Brainliest ]. Need Help ASAP Please.

A) Economic - The Highland Scots were slaveholders who would establish large rice plantations along the Altamaha River.
B) Philanthropic - The Highland Scots were convicts who were released from prison. Oglethorpe hoped to give them a fresh start in Georgia.
C) Religious - The Highland Scots were devout Catholics who would help convert the Native Americans to Christian
D) Defense - The Highland Scots were fierce fighters who would protect Georgia's southern border from invasion by the Spanish.

Answers

Defence—The Highland Scots were fierce fighters who would protect Georgia's southern border from invasion by the Spanish is the reasons for colonization as described in the Charter of 1732. Hence, option D is correct.

What happened in the Spanish invasion?

This has been the accepted narrative of the Spanish conquest's history for the past 500 years: Montezuma gave Cortés command of his empire. Cortés and his army arrived in Tenochtitlán and lived there quietly for months before being assaulted by rebel Aztecs. Montezuma was killed by friendly fire.

Between 1519 and 1521, Hernán Cortés and a small band of warriors conquered the Aztec monarchy in Mexico, and between 1532 and 1533, Francisco Pizarro and his allies overthrew the Inca empire in Peru. These triumphs created the foundation for the colonial regimes that would transform the American continent.

Years of political and theological conflict led to the conflict between Catholic Spain and Protestant England.

Thus, option D is correct.

Explain the importance of tariff policies in the Republic of Texas. (OC1)

Answers

Answer: I put this and i got it right

Explanation:

Tariff policies of the Republic of Texas varied from an approximation of free trade to the imposition of high duties for revenue purposes. In general, East Texas wanted low tariffs or none at all, West Texas and President Sam Houston advocated high customs for revenue, and president Mirabeau B. Lamar favored abolition of all tariffs. An ordinance of the Consultation on November 13, 1835, granted power to the General Council to impose impost and tonnage duties and provide for their collection. Between 1835 and 1842, seven tariff bills were passed and signed into law and several were passed by Congress but vetoed by Houston. On December 8, 1835, the General Council formed six revenue districts and fixed duties of 20 percent ad valorem on goods entitled to debenture or certificate of drawback in the ports from which they were exported and 10 percent on all other goods except household goods, guns, and ammunition, which were to be admitted free.

In the Inca civilization, all roads led through what?

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Inca roads covered over 40,000 km (25,000 miles), principally in two main highways running north to south across the Inca Empire, which eventually spread over ancient Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina. One highway ran down the coast, and the other wound through the highlands. Another important route ran east from Quito (Ecuador) across to Mendoza (Argentina), and there was also a major route along the plains of the northern coast. Criss-crossing these main roads were some 20 other secondary routes and many smaller trails besides. Roads were also built which went beyond Inca-controlled settlements and led to outside territory, perhaps to facilitate trade with, or military operations against, neighbouring peoples. Along some of the more important highways, milestones marked each Inca unit of distance.

An intellectual movement known as the Enlightenment in the 18th century promoted the concept that logic and science, as opposed to tradition and religion, are superior at educating people and advancing their understanding.

Buddhism provided a variety of explanations in a variety of terms and approaches, depending on each person's stage of development, intellectual capacity, and ability to follow directions.

After seven weeks of meditation under the shade of a tree, he came to the conclusion that in order to remove needless misery, desire must be extinguished.

The Constitution gives the federal goverment many important duties: making laws, raising money and deciding how to
spend it, protecting the U.S. and its allies by taking military action in foreign countries, and protecting Americans from
unconstitutional government actions at home. Governments at the state and local levels have important duties as well.
Some powers, like making war or signing treaties, belong to the federal government. Other powers, like making laws
regarding such things as marriage, belong to state governments. Local governments have their own powers as well, like
making laws and regulations that affect town or city residents. These include things like noise ordinances and zoning
regulations that determine how late one can play loud music or what parts of town factories can be located in. Use the
internet to learn more about the powers that are exercised by the three separate branches of the federal, state, and
local governments. Write an essay in which you discuss what each of the three branches of government does at each
level of government-federal, state, and local. What does each branch do? Do the branches interact with one another?
If so, how does one branch affect what the others do?

Answers

Answer:

National defense is the priority job of the national government.

National defense is the only mandatory function of the national government. Most of the powers granted to Congress are permissive in nature. Congress is given certain authorities but not required by the Constitution to exercise them. For example, Article One, Section Eight gives Congress power to pass a bankruptcy code, but Congress actually did not enact bankruptcy laws until well into the 19th century.

But the Constitution does require the federal government to protect the nation. Article Four, Section Four states that the “United States shall guarantee to every State a republican form of government and shall protect each of them against invasion.” In other words, even if the federal government chose to exercise no other power, it must, under the Constitution, provide for the common defense.

National defense is exclusively the function of the national government. Under our Constitution, the states are generally sovereign, which means that the legitimate functions of government not specifically granted to the federal government are reserved to the states. But Article One, Section 10 does specifically prohibit the states, except with the consent of Congress, from keeping troops or warships in time of peace or engaging in war, the only exception being that states may act on their own if actually invaded. (This was necessary because, when the Constitution was written, primitive forms of communication and transportation meant that it could take weeks before Washington was even notified of an invasion.)

The great irony of our time is that the bigger the federal government has become, the less well it has performed its priority function of providing for the national defense. For example, Congress spent $787 billion in the “stimulus” bill last year, yet not a dime of it was spent on military procurement or modernization—despite the fact that America is in greater danger today than it has been at any time since Communism was threatening Europe in the late 1940s.

The Heritage Foundation has written extensively on the risks facing America and the state of our defenses. Here is a brief summary of the salient facts.

America has no strategy for victory in the war on terrorism—we’re not even calling it a war anymore—and the momentum has shifted to the terrorists. The outcome in Afghanistan is in doubt. If the terrorists succeed there, they can reconstitute their safe havens, plan further attacks on the United States, and threaten to gain control of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.

The Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism, a bipartisan commission with the status of the 9/11 Commission, found unanimously that the terrorists would “more likely than not” develop and use a weapon of mass destruction against a Western city by 2013. The Director of National Intelligence publicly agreed with that assessment.

The international regime for controlling nuclear weapons is broken. Pakistan has a substantial and growing nuclear arsenal. Its intelligence organization has been penetrated by the Islamists. Both North Korea and Iran are steadily increasing the range, payload, and accuracy of their ballistic missiles. No one seriously believes that the Iranians will voluntarily stop their nuclear program or that the West (except perhaps the Israelis) will use force to stop them.

According to our Pacific commander, China is increasing its military strength far more quickly than our intelligence predicted. The Chinese have already acquired an arsenal of advanced fighters and missiles that threatens to deny the American Navy access to the Taiwan Strait. They are building as many as five submarines per year and have established a modern submarine base on the island of Hainan. They have announced plans to build a variety of the ships necessary to field a blue water capability.

The American military is significantly weaker than it was at the end of the Cold War.  Most of our tankers are equally as old; they will not be replaced, if at all, until the 2030s. The Department of Defense wants to close our most modern cargo aircraft production line and will close our most sophisticated fighter line. The missile defense budget has been cut, and according to most reports, the Obama Administration will cut modernization budgets even further.

As important as it is for the federal government to restrain itself from interfering where it does not belong, it is equally important that the government perform its constitutionally mandated function of providing for the national defense.

America’s global influence is being checked and rolled back, and even the homeland is no longer safe from attack.

The situation can still be recovered, but only if our leaders understand their duty, regain their confidence, and reenergize the defense of freedom here and abroad.
