Answer:
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is a first-person narrative novel by Sherman Alexie, from the perspective of a Native American teenager, Arnold Spirit Jr., also known as "Junior", a 14-year-old promising cartoonist. The book is about Junior's life on the Spokane Indian Reservation and his decision to go to a nearly all-white public high school away from the reservation. The graphic novel includes 65 comic illustrations that help further the plot.
Although critically acclaimed, The Absolutely True Diary has also been the subject of controversy and has consistently appeared on the annual list of frequently challenged books since 2008, becoming the most frequently challenged book from 2010 to 2019.Controversy stems from the novel's depiction of alcohol, poverty, bullying, violence, sexuality, profanity and slurs related to homosexuality and mental disability. As a result, dozens of schools have challenged it, and some schools have banned the book from school libraries or inclusion in curricula.

Read the story The World is Your Oyster:
The powerful waves thumped again the barnacle-encrusted hull of the ship with a sickening rhythm, rolling and tossing the ship around like a rag doll. Rusty and Walt were old hands, but even they were feeling squeamish. The pair had been sailing the high seas of French Polynesia aboard Captain Jack's ship, The Rapscallion, for almost a year now. The captain and his crew were always in search of treasure. This week, it was oysters and the elusive black pearl.
As the ship neared the coastline of a small island, the sea began to calm. The pirates could see their next hunting ground: a long stretch of golden beach. It was a beautiful sight, but both Rusty and Walt felt nauseous. This time it wasn't seasickness. They were worried they wouldn't find any pearls at all, let alone a rare, black one. Many a pirate had walked the plank for returning to the ship empty-handed. Captain Jack was a bad egg. He was as cunning as a fox but mean and nasty, too. If he didn't get his way, there would be trouble.
"The world's your oyster, men!" Captain Jack shouted as the crew climbed down into the row boats and headed to shore. "Or should I say, my oyster!" he continued, laughing maniacally. "Don't let me down, or it will be the plank for you!"
Walt was Rusty's best friend, but he hated being paired with him on these search missions. Walt was lazy as a sloth. He liked to stand around calling out orders while Rusty did all the hard work. This time was no different. While Rusty dug for oysters, Walt stood in the shade, pointing at any shellfish he thought looked promising. Rusty pried oyster after oyster open but found no pearls. He was scanning the beach for more oysters when he realized he hadn't heard Walt's commands in a while. That's when he turned and saw that Walt was asleep under a palm tree! Rusty was a bull seeing red. He'd had enough. He picked up an oyster and threw it at his friend. It hit Walt square on the head with a resounding thud.
"Owww!" Walt screeched, sitting up abruptly and rubbing his head. "Whatcha do that for, Rusty," he stopped as suddenly as he'd sat up. "Well, looky here, Rusty, you found a black pearl after all!"
Rusty ran over. He could barely believe his eyes when he saw the small, shiny black peal in Walt's hand. The pair wouldn't be walking the plank this time. They were safe for another day.
"I guess what they say is true," laughed Rusty. "Two heads are better than one!"
Which of the following describes Walt and Rusty's moods at the beginning of the story compared to the end of the story?
A) In the beginning of the story, Walt and Rusty are joyful and excited to find B)treasure. At the end of the story, they are nauseous and fearing for their lives.

Why does Anderson repeat the phrase “ten circles to the left/right” throughout Chapter IX?
Answer:
What expression does Isabel see on Master Lockton’s face when she describes him as “looking like a cat who had just swallowed the last bite of a juicy mouse” (page 57)?
Answer:
What does the scene Isabel witnesses in the library (pages 60–61) reveal about the incident on the dock in Chapter V?
Answer:
How does Isabel feel as she sneaks out of the Locktons’ house in the middle of the night (page 64)?
Answer:
Answer: Anderson repeats the phrase “ten circles to the left” because Isabel was cutting something or something metal for Becky because someone royal was coming.
Lockton’s face was mostly angry / shocked because Isabel isn’t supposed to say those types of things in front of Lockton since she's a slave.
Based on what I read , Isabel felt like a criminal because she wasn’t supposed to be outside unless her owner/master gave her a pass to go outside.

The passage that would give the best support for the theme that "people will believe what they want to in spite of truth" in "A Piece of String" is "He was believed so much the less as his defense was more complicated and his arguing more subtle." Option C is the correct answer.
This passage highlights how the character's complex and subtle defense works against him, leading to his belief being diminished. It suggests that despite presenting a complicated and nuanced argument, the truth is overlooked or dismissed by others who prefer to believe what they want. Option C is the correct answer.
By emphasizing that the character's defense is met with less belief as it becomes more intricate, the passage supports the theme that people will believe what they want to, regardless of the truth. It showcases how personal biases and preconceived notions can override objective truth, leading to misunderstandings and unjust judgments.

How does the tone of the story portray the author’s perception of his country?
Answer:
The tone of the story is not overtly moralistic, but we know that the author is using a sarcastic tone when George refers to the holy war "blessing butchery." The author does not endorse the political stance of his country; he uses the character of George to criticize the evidently much publicized war. For example, Howells questions the sanctity of war through George when he says, "But war! Is it glorious to break the peace of the world?" The story’s tone turns disapproving when Editha faces George’s mother. Howells uses Mrs. Gearson to bluntly criticize the highly idealized and romantic vision of war, when she says, "You just expected him to kill someone else, some of those foreigners, that weren't there because they had any say about it, but because they had to be there, poor wretches—conscripts, or whatever they call 'em. You thought it would be all right for my George, your George, to kill the sons of those miserable mothers and the husbands of those girls that you would never see the faces of." The author further expresses his objection to the romantic idealization of considering war glorious through Mrs.Gearson when she says, "I thank my God he didn't live to do it! I thank my God they killed him first, and that he ain't livin' with their blood on his hands!""
