-show effort and work hard

-ask yourself why you want to play basketball it helps with motivation to reach your goal in making the team

-teamwork and communication

-practice outside of school work on your shots, dribbling, etc. the coaches look forward to good players so practice is recommended especially if you've never played the sport.
