Here I am doing my rock chick impersonation. Impersonation because, well – I do like rock, but I’m not sure I’m that much of a rebel apart from that. The mess in the background is all mine, though. And I can play guitar ![]()
I’m wearing boots and biker jacket from Diesel, jeans from Tiger of Sweden, and a tee from H&M with the Rolling Stones logo.
I’ve always liked the possibility of playing around with different styles. Usually I go for classic, simple clothing – but preferably with an edge. However, now and again I like playing around with the rock chick look.
There’s always been a connection between what music you listen to, and the clothes you wear. It’s not just that rock stars dress in the latest fashion – it’s also the other way around. Just think about David Bowie. I see Ziggy Stardust everywhere in current collections from leading designers. Now, there’s a possible topic for another blog post…
Anyway. Rock chicks are not afraid of looking ugly. They thrive on ugliness. Just think of the mother of all rock chicks: Courtney Love. She might look strung out on drugs, with mascara dripping down her cheeks, but no-one can deny she’s got attitude.
A few pictures for your inspiration:

Frances Bean Cobain: It just can't be easy being the daughter of Curt Cobain and Courtney Love. Just like her mother, she's a rad rock chick. She certainly has something to live up to, when it comes to rock n' roll living.

Agyness Deyn: One of my favourite style icons. Deyn plays around with her style - sometimes she's a rock chick, sometimes she's not. But she's always got impeccable taste.

Alice Dellal: The heavy rocker with the undercut does modelling for Chanel, bringing a bit of rock chick to their label. She's not a classic beauty, but she makes up for it in charisma.

Another pic of Alice Dellal which shows off her sense of clothes a little better than the other picture
